I'm in Tallahassee, FL on CSX's ex-SAL/L&N line from Jacksonville to New Orleans. For the last two months or so, there have been very few trains due to some kind of track or structure maintenance. There were some scattered street closures due to overpass maintenance of some kind here in town, and for a week or so I saw occasional equipment moves past my office. Didn't see any tie or rail replacement, but I wouldn't see it unless it happened in the very small area visible from my office. Does anyone know what type of work is being done, or when it will be complete? Many thanks.
