No, but if you bring a leather jacket and a whip, they might think you are shooting the next Indiana Jones movie and welcome you in. Just tell them you're a stunt double.[:D]

Quick report.

I took pictures over the fence from the parking lot of the Fred Harvey museum between the station and the BNSF offices on the East end of the yard.

Then I drove up to Dalies. Great spot, with no problems. (I did stay out side the barb wire fence along the ROW.) Saw three east and one west in the 45 minutes I was at that spot.

Belen is patrolled 24/7. I would recommend Correo (west of Abq on I-40) or the cute little town of Mountainair (east of Belen on Rt 47 & 60).

It is only about 24 hours, way too short. I go coach, but if the Sightseer Lounge is the right series (I forget whether it is I or II), there is bench type seating in the lower level that makes an excellent spot to catch some sleep. Otherwise I hope for a seat of my own.

Ok, enough politics. Time to move on to more important things.

On Saturday, 11/13, I am taking the SW Chief from Chicago to Albuquerque for a short holiday[:D][:D]. I think I will have time to drive down to Belen to take a look at the action on the Transcon, but don't want to have to spend time looking for good viewing locations.

Any tips? Specific as possible, as I will use Map Quest as a guide to find any suggested locations.
