Sam, at least two of the SD70ACe's (not the CAT unit) were in my neck of the woods as demo units fresh from the factory. They ran on the short line ATR for a while. Hope they weren't hurt too bad.

Northtowne:

At least two of the SD70ace units rolled over, one of the units 'rolled'  was the "Caterpillar" demo unit ( the one that was taken to 'show' in las Vegas, some time back (?).   The other two units were also out of the EmD Demonstration Fleet before their sale to A&M

Have  seen anything of the repair dispositions on the other A&M units that were involved in that "roll-over"; or any repair notices of the ( apparent?) ALCO units that were involved in the collision with the stalled passenger train, either.

Anyone from out in A&M territory know how bad the SD 70's were damaged in the 10/10/14 derailment and where they were sent for repair. (Or can they self perform the repair?) Hope it wasn't too bad. Can't find out anything about it but some pics of two of them laying on their sides. I think these are the same ones that ran on the ATR for a while in North Alabama in EMD demo paint.
