Asheville's roundhouse matters to many
In addition to the stated reason, the NS probably wants to get that big, underused white elephant off the property tax rolls.
I would be unsurprised to see it replaced by a steel pole barn style structure or two - just as useful to NS, but only about 1/5 the tax value.
