I can perfectly understand Bergie's decision about this and, while it is a shame that the story had to go, you really can't blame him for doing it. You are very right in that we are quite lucky to be able to have the freedoms that we do on here.

It's a good thing that tree did get the story on the net and that we can still have it to enjoy. I'm going to print it off now. I feel kind of sad that the story is finished, though. But then again, that's how I always feel when I finish reading a good book , so it proves just how great of a story it was!

I agree...we get a lot of "latitude" here, (to borrow from Perry Mason) to talk about stuff. Yep, we always need to be on the same side...moderators and forum members.

Thanks to all that enjoyed my brief foray into the world of pulp fiction. But it had run it's course, and the last two chapters were being written at the time the thread was deleted, not as a response to it. Bergie, as a representative of his employer, has a responsibility to maintain the decorum here, in a fair and unbiased manner. I have a pretty good idea why it was done, and do not disagree with the decision, nor do I wi***o challenge or wish any of you to challenge the reasoning behind such a decision.

Larry (Tree68) has graciously saved, something I myself did not do, and posted on another site, the entire story for those that choose to read it. He has posted a link to it in the Diner and Coffee Shop.

Bergie and Kalmbach allow us a much greater degree of expressive freedom and latitude than is available in many of the other forums. I for one would like to keep it that way. I truly appreciate the praise and support, I really do. But at the same time, I do not desire for this to become an issue between us the users and the host.

I, like many of us, am one of dharmon's loyal fans and was thoroughly enjoying the incredible story he had going. I even copied and pasted all the chapters into an MS Word document so I could have them saved. I'm very glad I did because now the topic seems to have disappeared. What happened? Did Bergie delete it or something? If there's a reason that this fine piece of detective fiction can't be posted on here, perhaps our talented author could continue to write the chapters to his story and e-mail them to all us.
