yes bridge was removed.County road 75 is the road.It was double track way before the conrail takeover. Some passenger trains required pushers to get up the hill.Go to stateline road and they have a crossing/viaduct  for the road.

stay safe

Hickville Hill photo of the day
Posted by MP173 on Monday, September 8, 2014 2:27 PM

Today's (Sept 8) "photo of the day" is intriguing.  It is referred to as "Hickville Hill" and is near the Indiana/Ohio state line.  There are a couple of interesting things:

1.  Track 2 (south track) appears to be considerably higher than track 1.

2.  There is considerable widening between the track 1 and track 2.

3.  Track 1 appears to curve while Track 2 is tangent.

The description of the photo indicates the bridge (photo taken from has been removed).  I Google Mapped it and it appears to be Indiana County Road 75.

Why the grade separation between tracks 1 and 2?  Was this originally single track and then double tracked back in the late 90s with the Conrail takeover?  Was track one the original line and track 2 added but the land not leveled, thus creating the "Hill"?
