Heated up the link, that was actually a well-written article for a small-city newspaper. 700 is a lot of employees for Decatur, I'll bet that makes them the second largest employer (to Caterpillar).

As a former paperboy for the Decatur Herald and Review, I concur that was well written.

ADM and Staley's employ far more than 700.  My guess is ADM employs at least 2000 in Decatur and that might be low.

ADM will still have 4,400 employees in Decatur even after a small number move to new Chicago HQ. Tate & Lyle probably has about 500 working at its processing plant there.
