I'm no prude; I've worked for the Big Railroad longer than most of you have been on the Earth. But I will not read or participate in any threads by Trainfinder [my I.Q. is]22 or his "mother' Kiss My Caboose.

Detective Cinder richard sounds like the same bird. If you read his personals, his "handle" is perfectly appropriate. Just sounds like the other bird...

Maybe I should be more tolerant. Nah.

The best you can do is E-mail Bergie if the person is posting offensive topics. [4:-)]

Remember though, Bergie pretty much allows us to police ourselves. I usually try the "friendly approach" with an offensive poster as I did with KMC7 (When responding to him, I just use his initials as I do find his name very offensive ). KMC7 was pushing it for a while, but I have to admit that some of his posts are intelligent.

Bergie and his fellow moderators are pretty good about responding to e-mails from any of us concerning "risque" or "flaming" posts and topics. If he feels that the person does not merit being kicked off the forum, he'll first talk to them. After that.........see ya!.

A few people have been "sent packing" like Doggy and UP8998. Funny, I actually liked poor Doggy. Unlike KMC7, Doggy was not "risque" nor made sexual innuendos. He just got extremely emotional in his posts. Few of us will forget UP8998. This young guy had an "Extremely Defensive Fixation" with the Union Pacific Railroad. Used curse words more than once. Some of us tried like crazy to get him to participate positively.............Well, people will only be themselves!

Not being snotty, but next door at Model Railroader the posts, even angry ones, are cleaner. Vulgar and Offensive posts are handled much more quickly as more than one person will notify Bergie. [4:-)][C=:-)][C):-)]

Peace!

yeah, if somebody is being very blantant in just starting fights and such, the forum has it's ways of driving people out of town...for better or for worse.

It's a shame that one or two people can make the experience of the many unpleasant. We get hundreds of hits, and many, many posts, on most topics, the bulk of which are informative, and often entertaining as well.

I see people every day who seem determined to see exactly what they can do to annoy the most people. And if you are annoyed by them, they have achieved their goal. Not a very lofty goal, to be sure, but it seems to make them happy.

Unfortunately, we get them here as well. We've bitten on a couple of them, but for the most part they get discovered fairly quickly now and get run out of town on a rail, or ignored, which has the same effect.

In a slightly bizarre twist, one of the dingy detective's threads has turned into a rather humorous "who-dun-it" courtesy of Dan. It's worth reading.

This forum is like a renaissance kingdom. There is a king-Bergie, the ministers-moderators, the scholars/wizard-M.W Hemphill et al, and even the court musician-me. But you can't have a kingdom without the court jester and the fool right?

I try my best to NOT pull up any thread where I see KMC7 listed as either post
starter or as a reply post. That way, I don't see his bull and my blood pressure
will stay down. But, if no one read his posts or replied, he might get the hint
that we don't like, and will not tolerate his bull malarkey.

I know that CInderdick thread was started by one of the untouchables, BUT it is not to be missed as it has turned into something completely different thanks to the efforts of others. Kind of a "Nail Soup" thread...

Nah Antonio, but you got the joke, as did I. Good one Macguy.

I see no need to get in a bunge over the outlandish. The laughs created are worth the price of admission.[;)]

Actually I too have missed DOGGY.

I think he and some others (don't ask . . . don't tell lol ) just could have (or currently could use) used some adult leadership about knowing what to post.

Many forum members have an instant messenger service. I highly suggest using it to ask questions and for obtaining guidance. It is a good way to "chat" in real time and make new friendships.

But I do agree that the nic KMC is highly offensive to most normal forum users. I for one do not appreciate it, nor do I look into his posts anymore. I can find much better things to do, like cleaning out and rearranging my sock drawer. Hey Kev, maybe you should rearrange the polka dotted . . . well nevermind. [;)]

For those who don't want to be caught clicking on KMC's or CD's threads, Click Here. You won't regret it. I don't recommend eating or drinking while you read. As previously noted, you may end up with stuff in your sinuses...[:D]

I am printing this off to take to the Driver and confirm what he has muttered all along - we are truly nuts - in the nicest sense of the word!

Thanx Tree!

Don't forget to go back - Dan hasn't finished it yet.

This is the original thread, in all its glory. I'm just pasting the chapters into one complete document...

If you are wondering what Lone Byrd is, it's a fictional-based lease company for my railroads.
