Joe was an almost endless source of knowledge about the C&NW.  It is hard to imagine the future of the historical society without him.

Class act always - He will be missed. Railroad historians lost a friend and ally. CNWHS will be hard pressed to match all of his efforts.

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

The CNWHS is reporting long time historian of the CNWHS has passed away. Joe Piersen died of an aneurysm and service details are pending. Joe was a true friend of the CNW and its merged companies, and was a walking encyclopedia of information. Joe will be truly missed.   Tom Kaufman Seminole FL
