... a really clean BNSF SF Warbonnet. I was driving at the time so I didn't catch the number, but this thing was so clean and shiney it looked like a toy train. The red was as glossy as any fire engine and the silver trucks looked like they were just painted as well. It was on a merchandise train along with a fairly clean Dash-9 pumpkin. Most that I see are either faded or very dull like the 'before' car in a Nu-Finish commercial. Could it have been freshly painted recently for an excursion????

my Lionel layout. And that's it.
But on Friday I took a trip with a college buddy of mine, we canvassed the Bessemer & Lake Erie from Butler up to Branchton, and saw MoW equipment at work north of Queen Junction and a self-propelled RR crane shifting ballast cars at Branchton. And apparently, the Buffalo & Pittsburgh owns the Aleghenney RR-one on the ARR's GP35s was at the Butler engine terminal with 'B&P' below the roadnumber on the side of the cab, along with a Huron Central SD45.

On friday I saw all manner of intermodal, unit coal, and mixed freight from, the sea of scrap gons that accompany steel mills, the first SOO car I never saw (CP Rail covered hoppers with soo reporting marks), an ancient MKT covered hopper, an internmodal facility, a bunch of shiny new CP Rail autoracks outside the plant at Johnstown, the Union Tank Car shop at Altoona, and my favorite locomotive (NS #3357)
On sunday I saw all the same again including a flat car used as an idler at a mill with DO NOT LOAD frantically spray painted on it at least twelve times. And a bunch of what looked like bunk cars tied up somewhere west of Johnstown, PA. I think it was a wreck train.
