I'm curious to know if the "report abuse" links still work.  I seem to remember that one used to get a notice that a thread was already reported for abuse.

Yes, you can report abuse by clicking the link. No, you won't get a message saying the thread was already reported by someone else. Hope that helps!

The best work around for that is to view trains.com using Firefox.

or Chrome

There is that option also...yes.

Having Windows 8.1 is not the issue.

The problem lies in having to use Internet Explorer 11, which forces you to have to switch to compatibility view in order to have full functionality of the forum.

Well, I am in the Chicago station, using my laptop and it is not giving me any option. Balt, thanks for the warning about 8.1. I continually have invitations to upgrade, and, from what you wrote, it is not a good idea to upgrade.

Not quite. The post count in some threads remains incorrect, necessitating many extra mouse clicks to read some posts. IT seems to be asleep at the keyboard. Crying

Upgrade to windows 8.1 has cause some problems replying

On one machine I have IE 11 operating on Windows 8.1 - have had to use the compatibility setting to get the forum to operate properly

I wonder if we were properly maintained?

Wasn't on all weekend.  Now I am, and I'm not seeing any differences...

I think we are safe.  I don't think the "yellow thingie" at the bottom is going to disappear.

Yeah - What alleged "improvements" this time will turn out to be less than useful, compared to what's in place now ?  (Refer to all the comments after each such prior "maintenance' event to see what I mean.)

Website maintenance
Posted by Angela Pusztai-Pasternak on Friday, May 30, 2014 1:21 PM

Hello!

We will be performing system maintenance SATURDAY, 5/31/14 8:00AM until SUNDAY, 6/1/14 11:59PM.

Throughout the process, you may experience sporadic maintenance pages, have trouble authenticating, and possible other blips (yes, that's the technical term).

We apologize for the inconvenience, but perhaps we'll find you trackside instead!

Take care. Have a nice weekend.
