The Delta Valley & Southern is not the same railroad as the Delta Southern. The former was originally a Frisco branch, while the latter was a Missouri Pacific secondary line.  DV&S is still shown on the BNSF website as a connecting carrier at Delpro, Arkansas.

Here is a link to their web site.. Has an e-mail link on it as well.

Is this not the old Mo Pac Route?  Memphis to Tallulah, La  " Route of the Delta Eagle"  It was always considered a 'mini' streamline and was specifically built for the needs of its route.  The Lead unit was an early 'odd' built Unit as it had a single prime mover and a baggage compartment in the locomotive.

does anyone know if the tiny Arkansas shortline delta valley & southern railroad is still in operation, or has it been shutdown?
