Posted by JoeKoh on Friday, October 15, 2004 10:39 PM
Hi
a gentleman through a crimestopper tip was arrested in connection with a senseless act of murder. He threw a railroad tie plate off an overpass in toledo ohio which ended up killing the female driver. My condolances to her family.for more info check out 13abc.com or wtol.com.I hope he is put away for a very long time.[:(!]

First, "gentleman" is not an accurate term for this shred of human debris (assuming the guy they caught is the perpetrator). The person who did it deserves deserves to be hung from that overpass.

The perpetrator should receive swift and certain punishment. I really don't know if the punishment would deter others from copying this, but at least imprisonment would deter this particular criminal from doing that again.

Similar case near here, except it was a cement block. Similar result.

Hangin's too good for 'em.

Apparently you haven't heard of the "Hollywood Screen Test" or similar methods of police "Pre-Punishment"...

Yes but LAPD should have authorization for that if it's justified.

Why waste the money on the cane.
Electricity could get it done more quickly.
We need stiffer punishments for people like this. Prison time should not be an option.

Electricity can be a let down though; look what has happened in California and New York. Remember that huge power outage that occured from Ohio through Ontario all the way to the east coast?

Not to mention, why make the electricity rates go up for mega watt capcity increases when all it takes is a good arm of a police officer or an angry mob?

I say take him to the same overpass and drop the same steel plate on him. Make sure you miss a couple of times just the scare the crap out of him.

Well in this case I'm going to have to say that I'm very sorry a high speed intermodel train w/ two Dash -9 44CWs wasn't comming down the tracks becuase, that would of taught him a lession. #1 Don't tresspass on railroad property, #2 don't throw things from a tresstle, #3 never put anyone else's life in danger for your sick pleasure. BEST WISHES to her loved ones.

Had a case on a CN line near here a few years ago where some "kids" hung a large piece of wood from a semaphore frame over the line at about cab windshield height. Unfortunately, they were never caught. Fortunately it was found before a train hit it.
