The latest on Metro-North December wreck.

It appears that the Engineer in the wreck had an undiagnosed sleep disorder.

FTFY.

Sleep apnea is a problem, but must be resolved on an individual basis. The FAA wanted to do it vased on body mass alone; not the right thing for each individual.

Before I had my sleep study and got diagnosed I was deeply in denial, even though several times people would wake me up at my desk and let me know I was snoring. I always thought I had just rested my eyes but remained alert.
