Question about Willard Sub traffic
Posted by Junctionfan on Friday, October 15, 2004 10:55 AM
Hello all,

I was wondering how CSX dispatchers sends all that traffic from Fostoria on through Deshler? There is so many darn trains that go through both junctions all at once sometimes, they often get caught up at Godsend. Why isn't it triple tracked between F tower and Deshler?

some of the train traffic coming through fostoria goes to toledos walbridge yard.if it made a left at Deshler it would have to go through stanley yard in toledo and then back up into Walbridge. Its mostly priority.they need to get the auto parts and intermodals through so sometimes the freight has to wait.
hope this helps

When I was at Fostoria, F tower sent a north to west auto train on north track and than 5 later a east to west manifest on the north track. Not 3 minutes later, a south to west coal train went on the south track. 5 minutes later an auto train heading west from Toledo was on the north track and another manifest was heading west (I think from south). 10 minutes later, 1 manifest head east was on the south track and a very fast westbound intermodal train was on the north track.

How in the heck does this work?
