I would have to agree w/ everyone here it dosen't matter wutever the artist so desires. I think someone sould air brush flames or come out w/ a tricked out paint scheem for a locomotive. That would be something. BUT. . . in the case of NS I think the white letters on the black paint is cool, they should also give the black finish more of a glaze, and the trucks should be a silvery or crome color.
LORD HELP US ALL TO BE ORIGINAL AND NOT CRISPY!!! please? Sarah J.M. Warner conductor CSX

No difference, of course, being the Conrail fan I am, I think the patches are the most terrible things to ride on rails[;)]

I would assume anything will go, as long as it is clearly visible.

I don' t think this would matter, just whatever the shop wants to put on there is what they get.

Is there any significance to the renumbering of Conrail units on NS as to "Black numbers on a White background" or" White numbers on a Black background".
Is it determined by the predecessor railroad?
The conrail units that are now CSX are yellow numbers on the blue background.
