Check out Morning Sun's book "Trackside with Bill Gibson." He lived in Topeka, worked for ATSF and shot color in the 50s, 60s and 70s all over the system. Great photographer, great guy, and a friend of mine.

The "Santa Fe In Color" series by Lloyd Stagner is very good for what you want albeit a little pricey. It's a 3 book series starting from Chicago and working west. All 3 can run over $120. "America's Colorful Railroads" by Don Ball Jr. is also good but covers more than just the ATSF. Happy hunting. ljp

I think that Morning Sun has released a book on the ATSF, but I have not had a chance to see it. Any recommendations on a good book on 1st and 2nd generation diesels on the ATSF? (F's, early GP's SD's and early Alco's)
