The ATSF bought 22 GP60B's in the early 90's to go with its GP60M fleet. All units are currently in BNSF Heritage 1.

One full coal car heading west with all empties......oops

One coal car with it's dump open......oops

One car leaking what looked like kitty litter or really fine grain sand out the dump....ooops (almost had a fainting spell over that one - wasting kitty litter like that!)

Saw an old, old (must have been) Sante Fe auto rack - it was open on the front and ends. It was literally two tiers with side protection only (it was m.t.) But the way they wrap cars and trucks for hauling now days, this looked very antique!

Saw several GP60's for whatever reason - usually only see ACs, 70's and 9's.

It was very nice.

Then saw something I think we have had mentioned on here before - but refresh my memory - BNSF 9647 - cream and green with a different paint job - the cab was mostly green. Looked very odd and went by very fast! Didn't someone say this was an experiment?

AND my piece d'resistance - saw #343 - a GP60 with 2 power units behind it #328 and #329.

Now the question: forgive me if we have discussed this to death - short memory you know - do they make these this way or did they saw off the cab? If they sawed off the cab - that is very impressive, since they look like they were just manufactured that way.

Sent Brother Carl an e-mail and told him about the old CNW cars, so that's it from the true midwest!
