Fostoria Railroad Days Report and #3329 Moersk NS Engine

Okay...Who went to Fostoria this past weekend for Railroad Days? Also, who saw the Blue Moersk #3329 NS Engine? It came through Fostoria at least twice. One time on the N & W racing a black and white NS. I got two very good photos of it. I saw chessie hoppers with B & O lettering, lots of BNSF, NS, CSX, UP and many fallen flag boxcars, hoppers, gons, etc.

It was a good weekend in Fostoria, for this is only their 2nd Railroad Days. Organization needs to improve and they are still trying to allocate property for a Railfan Park. I viewed the old New York Central Depot, of course the B & O depot, the Toledo and Ohio Central Depot and most interesting was on the east side of Fostoria down a residential street is a still standing (in someone's front yard) a cement right of way marker for the New York and St. Louis RR (Nickle Plate); took photo of that too.

There was also the usual stuff for the kids and adults, as well as model train layouts, food, photo and leg race contests.

The swap meet was decent. Model railroading and railroadianna with about 20 tables. Two gentlemen that were interesting to talk to: One was a Superintendent for NS in Fostoria for 30 years and the other was a clerk for the Nickle Plate for 41 years. Both of these gentlemen had wares for sale.

I met a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends. Fostoria is a great town to view trains. Just needs a Railfan Park and a hobby store.
