Here is the 2013 photo. Saturday was about as crowded as I have ever seen it, but supposedly it was 2 people fewer than last year.

I would have gladly been there, however my wonderful wife got me tickets to todays Eagles/Packers game. Since I'm a die-hard Eagles fan (FLY EAGLES FLY on the road to victory!) I wasn't going to turn that down. Maybe next year for me too.

I hope Keith posts the picture soon. Pat took it, as usual, and I got to hold the sign. Not as big a crowd as usual, but we were joined by Carl Swanson and Jim Hediger from Kalmbach.I found Trainfest to be very crowded today--it was hard to move around. Those who go tomorrow may find it a little roomier...there's a game going on, I'm told.I was able to buy 100 Years of Railroad Cars, compiled by Walter Lucas in 1958. You would not believe how long this book has been on my want list! It was in "Kalmbach's One-Stop Railroad Book Mart" (a two-page ad published every month in Trains), when I first started getting the magazine, back in the early 1960s. By the time I could afford to buy a copy, it was no longer available. Now, of course, it's a collector's item, and I paid over four times the cover price for it...gladly! Lots of interesting and unusual pictures and drawings therein.

I'll look for you up near the ceiling somewhere, Tall Guy!
I am bumping Keith's post. We hope to see lots of folks at the annual gathering at the Kalmbach booth, twelve noon on Saturday afternoon
Hope to see you there Mike. Stop by the Milwaukee-N-Southeastern and say HI !!

jeaton As it happens, the folks who organize Trainfest failed to get my OK before scheduling the event. As a result they picked a weekend when I must be in Denver for a family event. You'd think a simple phone call or text message... Next year does look better. Jay

Trainfest has been the second full weekend in November for the past 20-some years, maybe more. Not like it has changed much. Maybe your family event planners didn't take it into account.
I'm hoping to make the photo this year. Missed last year, couldn't get to the photo as I was busy at the show.

Pat and I are planning to be there, for the third time this year. Pat is usually the person taking these pictures so everyone else can be in them.Sorry you won't make it this year, Jay; it was great to see you last year.
It's not Trainfest, and I don't think Trains Magazine is going to be there, but if anyone is attending the show in Syracuse on November 2 & 3, stop by the Adirondack Scenic's booth and say hi!

Well the time has come again for the seasons to change. The holiday season approaches Halloween, Trainfest, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. OOP's how did Trainfest get in there. Well for many model railroaders and rail enthusiasts Trainfest is a BIG EVENT.
For several years now myself and engine1385 (Dave)have organized a TRAINS.com forum gathering for those attending Trainfest as a chance to meet in person and get to put a face with a screen name. I can find photos for this gathering back to 2005 so this is probably the 8th Annual.
This year Trainfest is being held Saturday November 9th and 10th from 9am to 5:30pm. It will take place at Wisconsin State Fair Park at the Wisconsin Expo Center.
The plan as it the past is to have those members interested in joining in the photo please at the Kalmbach Publishing booth at 12noon on Saturday November 9th. This isn't just for TRAINS.com forum but any member of any of the forums modeling, or railfan please join us.
In the past we have had guests from Model Railroader and TRAINS magazine join us in the photo.
Below is the photo from Trainfest 2012.
Remember Model Railroading is FUN !!
