Probably not, I'm guessing that the staff that remains will be far to busy for that level of service, I was at Toronto's Union station a few weeks ago and saw an elderly lady being assisted to her train by a friendly Redcap, she was quite happy for the company! Sad to say but that sort of help will probably disappear, despite what Via Rail might say

I wonder if the personnel in the baggage rooms in the stations such as Vancouver and Jasper will place carry-on baggage in private rooms as they did for my wife and me when we traveled across Canada in 2009. When we arrived in Vancouver from Seattle and were leaving for Jasper the same day, I was going to take care of our carry-on baggage after checking one suitcase, but I accepted the offer of having it put into our room (no Redcaps there)--and we had the same experience when we arrived at the station some time before the train was to arrive when we left Jasper. When we arrived in Montréal on that trip, we learned that our reservation had been changed to another car, and a Redcap took care of getting our new space assignment. as well as taking care of our carry-on baggage (and taking my wife up and down escalators as she rode in a wheelchair).

So Via Rail has decided that people don't need help at Toronto's Union Station! Good Lord, what's next to be cut? I shudder to think.....
