Two years ago I visted New Zealand, and was at Palmerston North station to watch the Wellington Auckland passenger train change locomotives from diesel to electric. The train was three cars and a van, and the locomotive was a 4000 HP six axle (BoBoBo) electric, no 30006. I took a photo from the platform end, and it blew my baseball cap off as it passed. There is nothing like being connected to the National Grid for acceleration!
Hence the hobos holding their hats!

Glad to see someone else has found this.
Second best song (after Urge for Going) he ever did, imho.
If you listen to the rest of the words -- listen to what she says just as the train whistle blows coming into the station... and notice how the song ends.
Goosebumps down my spine every time I hear it.

I've always loved Tom Rush's stuff -- Panama Limited is one of the best, and Urge for Going (Joni Mitchell had a big hand in Urge for Going, by the way) is simply out of sight. And his guitar work... very special.
