Hi MidlandMike, I traced your coordinates and found everything. I saw the rails physically end at Platt Street in Glens Falls and after that the railroad right-of-way is now the Warren County Bike Way, all the way from Glens Falls to Lake George. That answers all of my questions. Thank you for your help. Happy Holidays

I drove along the branch in 2003, but for an update I looked at the Google Earth land image dated 10/9/2011.  The furthest I could follow the line showed railcars at (paper mill?):

 43°18'28.36"N  73°38'21.87"W

Following the line to the east you see tank cars.  Continuing to the east at:

 43°18'26.86"N  73°37'9.07"W

you see open top (coal?) cars.  This facility has a kiln and an attached quarry to the south, and looks like a cement plant..

On a branch to the north there is a covered hopper at what Google Earth ID's as Pregis Corp (protective packaging):

43°18'41.13"N  73°37'27.59"W

Glens Falls, NY Freight Service

Hi Everyone, I know that a branch line to Glens Falls, NY leaves the CP (former D&H) main at Fort Edward, NY. Is there still freight service on this branch? If so, who is served? How far does this line currently extend, both physically (including unused) and still in service? Any information you can give me would be helpful. Thanks to everyone and Happy Holidays!  pajrr
