Don, thank you for your reply! I'll post this info over on the Atlas F1 forum (this is the "technical forum"). There have actually been some responses over there so, perhaps F1 fans can be train fans?

Steve
SD45 went out the door with a 20-645E3.
Bore is 230.19mm or 9-1/16".
Stroke is 254.0mm or 10".
Weight of engine only is 19546 kg or 43091 lbs.
There you go!

Thank, Don
You won't believe why I asked this question: There is a thread on a Formula One Racing forum called AtlasF1 where someone asked a question about V20 racing engines, so I decided to see if I could entice anybody over there to become train fans by mentioning the 645 V20.
Here is the AtlasF1 thread: http://www.atlasf1.com/bb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35267 (I'm stevew on that thread)

That is a good one. I will dig into my books and see what I come up with.

EMD SD45 question
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 3, 2002 4:25 AM
Does anyone know what the bore x stroke was for the EMD SD45 V-20? What was the weight of the prime mover itself (not the entire locomotive)?

Thanks
