Thanks, Jay, I do have a copy (tucked away somewhere) and I've read the book probably 5 times by now. I wrote to Bill & Kay sometime back in the 1980's. I was curious as to how well that book made the railroad fan circuit.

amtrak-tom,

I have read the book. It is a very good read, written in 1979 by Kay Fisher. Her husband, Bill Fisher, also wrote, in 1990, a good book about his SP experiences--"30 Years Over Donner".

A few years back, I ordered my copy of "A Baggage Car with Lace Curtains" from either the Colorado Railway Museum or Strasburg's book store. If you are looking for a copy it may be worth your while to give either a try.

Just curious if anyone has ever read the book titled "A Baggage Car with Lace Curtains". It was written by a maintainer and his wife who lived in a C&S camp car while he worked for the Southern Pacific (??) in the 1940s (true story).
