The Schneider train's routing is Southern California to Marion, OH via BNSF-KCS-CSX.  Interchange is at Kansas City (BNSF-KCS) and St Louis (KCS-CSX).

I don't know if San Bernardino or another BNSF intermodal terminal (Montebello?) is considered the western point of origin.  Schneider has major operations near both locations (Fontana & Montebello) and the freight is combined coming out of California.

On the East end, the train originates and terminates at Schneider's own intermodal terminal in Marion, OH.  Schneider uses Marion over other intermodal terminals all over Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and western PA.

I don't know what drop-offs the train may have between California and KC (Albuquerque?),  but Texas and possibly Gulf Coast freight may run combined California-Amarillo or run seperately Ft Worth to California.  At KC blocks of Schneider freight from the East Coast and Chicago are added to the train in KC.  Southeast points Schneider freight (Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham and Jacksonville) also goes via KC before heading west.

The train's routing between the two points is CSX (Marion -St Louis), KCS (St Louis-Kansas City), BNSF (KC-SoCal).  From what I've seen the power can be from any of the three railroads involved.

From what I've read recently Indianapolis is seeing this train since CSX opened their North Baltimore yard.  They are block swapping there and sending freight to St Louis via Indy to avoid Chicago.

This train should be a regular Indy sight for you by now.

Schneider Container Train- Pumpkin Train

I live in Indianapolis, and see the Schneider Container train come through. Does anyone know the designation of the train, i.e. Q162, Q108, etc. -what is its call designation? Secondly, do you know where it originates from the west going east and then east coming back west? At one time I believe KCS power was on the train coming east. Does KCS still power this train? Thanks much for any info on this. Big Rail Fan in Indy- Emerson
