This line is now The Great Sandhills Railway. It runs from Swift Current(Java) over to Leader, SK and down to Burstall, SK. The line from Empress, AB to Bassano, AB west of Brooks, has been gone for 30 years, as has the line from Burstall to Fox Valley, SK.

I wrote a post about The Great Sandhills Railway:

Is this Canadian Pacific rail line still active to any degree? When I lived in Swift Current 30 years ago, it seemed to have some train traffic on it. I believe it rejoined the Canadian Pacific mainline around Brooks, Alberta.
