Thanks samfp1943, forgot about the ex MP route running nearly parallel to Katy. Was thinking maybe Dennison TX for next crew change pt south of McA but that seems like a short run.

Was in McAlester, OK last week, crew change point on UP (ex Katy). Pretty sure Parsons, KS is the next change pt north, where is the change pt south of McA? Seems to be fewer coal trains.

Northtowne:

Kansas city Crews change southbound at Parsons(Ks), and then at McAlister (OK)

not sure where the change is after than going south.

Bear in mind that southbound (old KATY) the primary flow of traffic is Southbound        ( jct about Paola/Osawatomie Area) although the line is signaled for Both directions.

A major junction is about at the area of Wagoner,Ok. his is where the former MoPac line goes towards Ft. Smith & Little Rock, Ar.

at the Wagoner JCT the UP RR directs its Northbound traffic up the former MoPac Line to a crew change point at Coffeyville,Ks. ( Watco has a car service facility at that Southcoffeyville(Ok)/Coffeyville,Ks area to service unit coal trains( returning to PRB for reloads).  The northbound traffic runs the former MoPac though Garnet,Ks and rejoins the former KATY line about at the Osawatomie /Paola area to get to Kansas City.
