I went on a Saturday and you have to be patient.  There was a surge right when the park opened to the public, then almost nothing for a long while, maybe 2-3 trains, then after 1 pm it was almost constant, with 2-3 trains at the same time in some instances.  People had been coming up around noon and asking if there had been many trains and then leaving.

Dewey "Facts are meaningless; you can use facts to prove anything that is even remotely true! Facts, schmacks!" - Homer Simpson "The problem is there are so many stupid people and nothing eats them."

Hey Don:

I just noticed your blog and read it and would recommend others on the forum to do so.  Great caption on the steam train ride (regarding your "mostly willing" family members).  Your daughter had the same look my son has during such outings.

Saturday should be OK.  You must just have been unlucky.  Sunday and Monday are the low volume days because of intermodal trains don't all operate 7 days a week.

Best Day for Traffic at the Horseshoe Curve
Posted by CAKCLE on Monday, June 11, 2012 11:16 AM

Hello everyone

Been to the curve twice now on a Saturday and traffic was so so.  What is the best day to visit during the week?  Does anyone have a copy of the schedule they post at the curve?

Thanks and have a good one.
