Today I saw.... Revisited
Posted by tree68 on Friday, August 27, 2004 10:46 AM
The previous "Today I Saw" thread seems to have gone into Never-Never Land, so here's a new start.

Coal being delivered to Fort Drum, NY today included hoppers with a number of fallen flag reporting marks: SOO, DRGW, CNW, MP. Also a BN car with CTRN reporting marks, a few AEPX with no other RR markings, and not a few UP cars. All manner of shapes and sizes, too. We usually get VA/WV coal in CSX hoppers, so I'm assuming this is western coal.

The CTRN hoppers were part of the SP (now UP) coal hopper fleet.

Didn't see anything today, but on Wednesday I saw a BNSF coal train with two ex-Santa Fe locomotives still in the original paint scheme. There was just a number patch on each, that was the only difference.
