I think the fire was likly caused by locomotives like Mr. Hemphill said. Engine exhaust over the years , a good coating of carbon, maybe 1100 deg air from dynamic brakes. What are you gonna do? Part of the buisness.

Is it just me or are there a lot of tunnel fires lately? Should someone be concerned about this? Are the causes of them all known?
