De-Brief--Trainfestival2004
Posted by co614 on Saturday, August 14, 2004 4:03 AM
Wanted to share with the list that I just got back from 3 exciting, tiring weeks in Ohio where I was one of a small Army of volunteers that helped make Trainfestival2004 happen.
Overall and particularly from the prospective of the general public(who made up the vast majority of the estimated 27,000 attendees) it was a rousing success! For the serious steam fans there were some disappointments with no shows(1225,765,33) and mechanical problems (1293&6325) that now and then sidelined the "stars", but even with these issues most foamers felt it was a great show and well worth attending.
I was particularly gratefull to see so many young families with kids(3-7) all dressed up in their bibs-engineers hats(thanks Thomas) as they are the future!
The many lessons learned will I'm sure make Trainfestival2006 even better!!
It was great meeting and greeting so many fellow steam fans from around the nation, and I look forward to TF06!!
Best regards, Ross Rowland
