has anyone brought a scanner on amtrak long distance trains since 9/11? Iwonder if it would be wise to do so. I called Amtrak they said as long as I use ear phones it's ok.Thanks for any imput.

I hope its ok to take a Scanner along with on Amtrak. Planning on taking mine on Amtrak when i go to Galesburg Illinois in june. Anymore input would be helpful.

Ijust returned on a round trip on the SouthWest chief from Arizona to Chicag and used my scanner all the way. The frequencies change many time so you should have a list of them. Had three DEA agents on board and they knew I had a scanner and was never questioned although some passenger had luggage checked several times
