I went to Iroquois Jct. IL. where the Kankakee,Beaverville, and Southern shops are located. I saw the six GP 38's that they received but also noticed four Alco units in behind the new units. Does anyone know if they are sold to another shortline? It had markings under the cab, NRIX or something like that. Any info on this will be appreciated. Thanks[:D]

NRIX is National Refrigerants, Inc a private car owner. NREX is National Railway Equipment a locomotive rebuilder and a likely buyer of ALcos as they also build Alco 251 engines under license. I'd guess that is what you saw, but that is only a guess.
