The Zephyr was a post war train. March 1949[:D] - March 1970[:(]

http://calzephyr.railfan.net/

It was a joint operation of the Western Pacific, Denver and Rio Grande, and Burlington

Matched cars were furnished by all three ran through and each furnished the locos for their portion of the route. The cars were lettered California Zephyr. Car ownership was shown by the rairoad initials near each end of the cars[:)]

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Which railway company owned the California Zephyr around 1940-1950?
