There is an explanation for the name on their website.  But that area is full of names like that, combinations of Dutch and Welsh and so many others.  Some were/are mine names or oil fields or forests. But most are unpronouncable and vague in meaning.!

RIDEWITHMEHENRY is the name for our almost monthly day of riding trains and transit in either the NYCity or Philadelphia areas including all commuter lines, Amtrak, subways, light rail and trolleys, bus and ferries when warranted. No fees, just let us know you want to join the ride and pay your fares. Ask to be on our email list or find us on FB as RIDEWITHMEHENRY (all caps) to get descriptions of each outing.

I hope you have a rip-roaring time of it, Henry.  I was struck, though, by the play on what surely was meant as Buxtehude by the person who named the railroad.  Either that or the person recording the name heard it from around a hot hard-boiled egg bouncing around in the issuer's mouth. Laugh

This Sunday, Aug. 21 is one of two Sundays this year (Sept 18th is the other) when the Bucksgahuda & Western RR has an open house...In St. Marys, McKean County, PA....a unique and fun collection of narrow gauge cars and layout, steam, diesel, other, homemade and old stuff .  This is the first time in about 8 years that I will have a chance to see this fun railroad operation...not a real railroad, not an old railroad reincarnated or preserved, perhaps best described as modeling at human size scale....Anyone have a chance to get by there is encouraged...history and railroading, steam and diesel and more along a section of abandoned PS&W ROW and environs....Don't know what the admission is, but it is worth the three hour drive  we're doing to see it!
