Here's what I got by searching Trains for "GT" from 1950 - 1960 inclusive:

Steam in Indian summer
from Trains June 1957  p. 22
cog  GT  Hampshire  maine  MWRC  New  steam
GTWs commuter service at Detroit
from Trains December 1955  p. 18
Grand Trunk Western-Canadian National Chicago-Boston freight train 490
from Trains August 1950  p. 18
B&M  CNR  cv  freight  GT  operation  speed

The broad (many other) "Magazine Index" here from 1932 - date is a "Subscriber Extra" (only) feature.

"Larry tree68": Thanks for your reply. "Trains'" indeces online go far back only to 1980. I need indices of the 1950's. Can you view those of the '50's?

I believe you can search the index of all Trains articles on-line.

Anyone of you please let me know if you can which of the issues of "Trains" magazine in the 1950's contain an article about the Grand Trunk Western RR. One of them, the Dec. 1955 issue, has Jim Scribbin's by-line "GTW Keeps Its Word" about its Detroit commuter service. Are there any other issues with articles about GTW?
