Union Pacific passenger train

Was watching the Olympia, Washington webcam a few minutes ago and saw two UP locomotives pulling a string of UP passenger cars. Is there some kind of special event going on?

UP last weekend ran their annual special event train between Cheyene and Denver, which I believe is sponsored by the Denver Post. As usual the event was a complete sell out. The train showed up here in Denver pulled by a Challanger steam loc and a diesel loc and a long string of UP coaches and dome cars clad in armour yellow and harbor mist grey.

I assume this is the train you saw.

I was a paying customer on the UP train when it came to central Arkansas. [:D]
That was in the mid 1990s.

That year it was pulled by UP 3985. When the passenger train came again, I worked as a car host on it. This time it was pulled by UP 844.

If you ever get the opportunity to ride it, DOOOOOOO ! ! ! They are well kept cars and very nice to ride. [:)] I rode in the Columbine dome car both times. [:)]

I saw on the last time here that they now have a theatre car. WOW. Now I want to ride in it too. [:D]

I rode the theatre car on a trip from Portland to The Dalles OR. in 1995.it was totally awesome facing backwards watching the tracks whiz by and dissapear in the distance. The train also had an ex C&NW (originally MILW.)full length dome.[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][8D][8D][8D][8D][8D][:p]

The descriptions sound like the one I saw. Just wondered what was going on.

Just came back from Seattle I think I saw your train just south of the King Street Station. I thought it was some executives on a system inspection?

Its the UP Board of Directors looking at the Pacific Northwest infrastructure. They're sure to see lots of freight going nowhere fast
