Daylight both ways, except for part of the east end in Kansas near the diversion point.

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

What a way to get a good look at a "new" railroad!  Or is that nighttime operation (when we traveled on that train we went over Raton in daylight but we may have been late)?

There is a wildfire in NM right at the summit of Raton Pass. Both the Amtrak line and I-25 are closed. Now that Abo Pass has two main tracks operating there may be less congestion.
