What does "Roadside running" mean?  Is it perhaps a marathon that follows the tracks?  Or, tracks that follow a roadway?  None of my railroad contacts has even heard the term before!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- K.P.’s absolute “theorem” from early, early childhood that he has seen over and over and over again: Those that CAUSE a problem in the first place will act the most violently if questioned or exposed.

Congrats to Tom Nanos for winning vol. 166 of Trackside with his impressive "Dark Sky" shot of a Conrail local making its way back to Manville yard in a downpour.

The theme for volume 167 of Trackside with Trains is: Roadside running.

The deadline for volume  167 reader submissions is Thursday, June 16.

All submissions must meet the following criteria, please use this list as a checklist before you send in your image:

  • Only .jpgs will be accepted. PLEASE NO SCANS, only digital image.
Images must be no larger than 1024 pixels wide.
  • E-mail your image to trackside@trains.com. Any image e-mailed to a different address will not be considered.
  • When you e-mail your photo, please make the subject line: “Trackside vol. XXX submission.” For example, this round is volume 167, so the e-mail subject line should read, “Trackside vol.  167 submission”
