Cajon_92 Yesterday I caught BNSF's J-FCASHR1-14, an auto plant parts special from Nummi in Warm Springs, CA to Sherman, MS on Tehachapi. This interesting 4-car move was powered by BNSF 7646. Wonder if we'll see more of these trains. I was facinated to see that they were in North Mississippi. Having grown up in my working career in that area. I wanted to see where they had built. I had heard that Toyota had built around Tupelo some time past.
I got to diggin around and this is what I found according to Google Maps.
The Toyota Motor Manufacturing Plant has a mailing address of Blue Springs, Ms. Blue.Springs. Ms. is located east of New Al;bany and west of Sherman by several miles. The BNSF line from Memphis to Birmingham runs roughly parallel to Hwy 78 now called I-22 ( a 4 lane Ltd. access road). The BNSF (nee Frisco) is on the north side of the highway now I-22 and if it is to be rail rserved will require a pretty good spur track to be constructed and the highway bridged to serv the plant.
