Bring the whole family down to the Washington State History Museum for the Sixth Annual Model Train Fest! This event for all ages celebrates the railroads past and present. Put on your conductor's hat and get ready for a ride through the golden age of railroads! The Model Train Fest will run from December 26 to December 31, and is included with the price of admission to the museum. The Washington State History Museum is proud to have the largest permanent train layout in the State of Washington. This fabulous exhibit is built and operated by the Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers. www.psmre.org .
Temporary displays will join the permanent layout and includes the Tacoma Northwestern Model Railroad Club, Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers, Friends of the South Cle Elum Depot, Onyx Division Puget Sound N-Scale, Pierce County Lionel Club, and Mount Rainier N-Scale. Especially designed for children are the LEGO Christmas Train Display by TrainBuilder Productions, Clint Cannon's Kids Play G Scale, and the Washington State Operation Lifesaver booth.
Jim Fredrickson, noted regional photographer and railroad expert, will be signing his new book Steam To Diesel on Friday, December 28th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Don't forget our FREE Thursday Night on December 27th from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
