I have a number of good spots picked out.  Mostly along the ex-MoPac double track line between Pacific and Maplewood. Many good open spots and some good backgounds.

Sorry, Tuscola folks, but you have more train-watching activity than we do anyway.

Not much point in voting for my area. We hear that UP has a steam program and is interested in history and such. No evidence of it on the Sunset route. In fact while their system melted down after the merger, while trains sat here for 2 weeks, they found the manpower to destroy 2 old coaling towers that were local landmarks.

Thats apples and oranges.

UP has never been interested in preserving old infrastructure, only the engines.

Bummer,  I had a parking spot picked out at the C street ballpark parking lot next to the tracks in Cedar Rapids, 3 miles from my house.  Oh well.  Congrats to all the folks along the Arkansas route.

I would've been up on the ped bridge.

I don't think we made it.  Missouri had a huge outpouring of votes and was a couple thousand votes in the lead last time i voted
