Posted by traingeek087 on Saturday, July 10, 2004 2:59 PM
I need some photos of BN in 74-75. I am wondering what all consists of coal cars were used right when the coal boom started, since they had to use old hoppers since they could not make new ones fast enough. (websites and links will help) Thanks.

http://KrugTales.50megs.com/rrpictale/helpers/helpers.htm

Above is a good site, it's a fellow named Krug who's an engineer for the BNSF, he does a bunch of online photo essays, and the link above is one that is all about riding the helpers in the 70s, this should help a little, there are a few good pictures.

No Problem, Krug has lots of great stories on the site as well, I've spent hours reading through all his photo journals.

Excellent Resource.
