Congrats on your first post, and welcome to the forum. Those are great photos, and if you want to share them with a larger audience, post them over at www.railpictures.net I'm sure they will be accepted.

I suspect you are referring to the two topics I posted this past week with all of the steam action. I think 261 will be passing through your neck of the woods on its way to Portal, ND. Actually, It's leaving from Glenwood at 10 AM today, so get out there and get some more good pictures!!!!

....Very nice array of pictures...Enjoyed scanning through them. "Earthworm" consist describing the train....Never heard that before, but can understand how they get the description.
That view at the trackside elevators is awesome...!

Hello All,

I've seen a couple pages with photos of recent activity and wanted to include a couple of my own. I'm work at the University of Minnesota, Morris alond the Morris Subdivision of the BNSF and within 25 minutes of the CP's yard in Glenwood, MN. I try to get out and check out the trains as much as I can, here is a few shots of recent trips.

BNSF 9223 a older 3 window SD60M enters the yard at Willmar, MN on a late March day with a long string of DEEX coal empties. Behind the 9223 were two SD70Ms, a BNSF executive scheme and a old ATSF unit. This shot was taken from an overpass on the east end of the yard.

BNSF 5451 approaches Kerkhoven, MN on it's way to the yard in Willmar with a "earthworm" consist of grain empties. A great sunny day for this shot of a very clean unit.

BNSF 9206 about to cross Crosby Rd. in Wayzata, MN with a train of COLX coal loads. The 9206 is just a few minutes west of Northtown yard in Minneapolis.

CP 8562 approaches the yard in Glenwood, MN with a mixed freight. Also with the consist is a CEFX unit, these blue and white lease units are common on CP's line through Minnesota.

On a great sunny evening, I caught up to SOO Line SD60 6025 and a mixed freight just after it left the yard in Glenwood. This train is on the line from Glenwood through Alexandria, MN and will pass over the double track main line of the BNSF in Detroit Lakes, MN on it's way to Canada. Behind the SD60 is a leased HLCX SD40-2.

CP 8638 passes CP 8501 at Hoffman, MN. The 8501 is putting together a train of grain loads and will shortly move out behind the 8638 and head west. This stretch of the CP is controlled with TWC, not CTC so there was a lot of good radio chatter on the scanner tonight. Both trains will pass over the BNSF near Tintah, MN.

Thanks for checking out the pics. I can post more as they come up.
