Santa Fe's "6-motor F unit," the FP45 in red and silver warbonnet paint, pulling the Super Chief! [:D]

Other favs: L&N's E6 locos as they didn't have the built out headlight on their noses, like other railroad's E6's have.
SP/ Rio Grande SD40T-2. Are there any plans to save one?

Ok, so it couldn't corner worth a darn (hates tight radii), but just one of them could do the work of a few of its peers.

I would love to see a modern rendition of the DD created with an articulated truck set...or one of the new self steering trucks....and a modern traction control system. Hmm...maybe it should be an AC unit too? :-) a man can dream. :-)

Ooooo... I like that idea...

I would have to say my favoriote diesel all-time would be the FM H24-66 "Train Master". The most powerful single-engine diesel of its time. Plus, they were built in Wisconsin [;)]. Too bad the engine was of an unusual (read: hard to maintain) design. [:(]

Of "modern" EMDs, my favorites are the GP15-1, the SD45 and 45-2, and the Tunnel Motors.

SD70 non M and C40-9 non W (Norfolk Southern style) --- old school charm with brutish power a close third would be a SD90MAC-H close to equal power as a centennial with one engine. Know its not to realiable but sounds and looks cool.[8D]

For GE: C44ACCTE and for EMD: SD70M. Both in UP Building America paint. Although Im not really a patriot or a Republican by all means, the flag looks nice and it fills up the side alot better than "Union Pacific." I used to like the C44-9W's but I like the AC inverter cabinets behind the cab on the C44AC's better than the Dash 9's AirConditoner. As for the SD70M, its just a good looking locomotive.

Hmmm, tough choice, tough choice.

I would have to say the Baldwin Centipede. It was big, it was powerful, and ultimately unsuccessful. It must have been breathtaking to see in person.

Alcos [;)]

The Century line was very good. Some are still around and working short lines. Find me a 40 year old GE still running.

The RS - 1, RS - 2, and the RS - 3s are classic.

The GMD1 has to be my personal favorite. It was the first locomotive I can remember seeing. I remember seeing GMD1 1070 heading across the Trans-Canada hiway on the now abandoned CN Cowichan Subdivision in Victoria, near the Town and Country strip mall.
