It would certainly have temporary couplings fitted for test and temporary bogies come to that. The couplings may be the same size and height but they may not. When the class 66s were built for the UK a buckeye was fitted for testing but side buffers and screw couplings for delivery.

When I looked at this picture, I recognized how much Thai locomotive differ in size when compare with North American locomotive.
The first question that came up in my mind was
whether or not the train's coupler were standardized (I mean for the same type of coupler.) which were same in size and installed height on the train
. From the picture above, if my memory is correct, the GE CN22-7i No. 4523 of State Railway of Thailand was being tested after the construction was completed. Please note that this locomotive is designed for narrow gauge. Anyone has any idea?
