I like them. Have seen the wheel slip photos also on the "other" CSX site before.

Ed, Wabash, or any other professional, do you think that wheel slip photo is legit? I guess it could happen, but it's almost too much to believe.

I'm quite sure it is. That particular one is on CSX, but I am familiar with one that happened on Conrail where a helper engineer fell asleep at notch 8 and the train stalled with similar results...

You should see what a SW9, trying to pull 90 someodd cars with air brakes set up can do.
Burned through the ball of the rail over an inch deep.

We had a discussion about this one, I belive the conclusion was a RCL or DPU kept pushing on a stopped train.
I have sene the same photo on the employee run website for CSX....

Love the "sun kink/speed bump" photo...
