The local tourism board of the state may provide you with a highway map with the railroads on it. This will hopefully give you some idea of what's there. (Some maps test your rail knowledge, though.)

Actually, I find TOPO maps better for railroad mapping, but the ones I found were 1985'ies (lol) and had alot of abandoned trackage.

I took USGS state maps and cut along the state lines and pasted them together to have a map that was roughly 6'x6'. The downside is that there is more than just railroads on them.

Steam Powered Atlas has editions for both the Southern States and Southeastern States. I think they should have the coverage you need. I am not affiliated with them in any way but they do good maps.

DeskMap has a US railroad map and also some states or regions. Unfortunately it appeasrs the only map covering the SE is the US map.

Does anyone know where I can get a map of the railroads in the SE USA? I'm particularly looking for Tenn, VA and WVA but will take what I can get. I prefer it to be a large wall mount kind of thing for the train room.
