I ran across this neat website courtesy of its developer, John B. Mentzer, earlier today, and quickly concluded that the content and navigation features were just too good not to share here.  If anyone has linked or referenced to it before, please accept my apologies for the duplication - I wasn't aware of that, and you too would surely know why it cries out for a broader audience.  For example, very detailed depictions of the former track layouts at places such as Chatham, where the Rutland RR had a small yard where it interchanged with the NYC, and another branch of the NYC came up from the river town of Hudson to join this line as well.   Also, a "Route Map" that includes several branch lines, such as to North Adams, Massachusetts, etc.  Enjoy !
